In decarbonized setups, microgrids often depend on a single photovoltaic system, making fail-safe energy storage via battery systems essential to manage power intermittency. Battery storage plays a vital role in the renewable energy sector, flattening the generation curve for wind and solar power while enabling intraday balancing of green electricity through Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs). This provides operators flexibility to optimize renewable energy output to customer demand, maximizing renewable energy use and PPA value while allowing for energy storage during negative market price periods for later profitable discharge.
